Disaster Relief
In times of crisis, firefighters work on the front lines: fighting fires, evacuating buildings, providing medical care, and doing whatever else it takes to protect the community.
They focus on helping others and often have little time to take care of themselves. That’s why, in 2019, the Fire Family Foundation launched its disaster relief program to provide immediate relief for the emergency needs of firefighters in US federally declared disaster areas.
Through this program, firefighters impacted by a natural or man-made disaster—a wildfire, earthquake, hurricane, flood, etc.—are eligible to receive a disaster relief kit.
Each kit includes:
- A $500 Grant
- A fleece blanket
- Hand sanitizer
- A notebook & pen set
- A reusable toiletry bag filled with the essentials: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a razor, shaving cream, and a comb
